Real Madrid have always been big spenders when it comes to transfer windows, and now their attentions are firmly locked on Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.
That’s according to The Sun in an exclusive, who first covered the story last November. They say that Madrid haven’t given up their quest to acquire Rashford in a sensational £100million deal, with the player holding out on discussing a new contract.
Rashford was apparently unhappy at his lack of playing time through the middle when Jose Mourinho was in charge, but things have changed massively with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the wheel.
I would be surprised if the Wythenshawe-born-attacker would leave Old Trafford for Spain, but in this game you just never know; particularly if Madrid come with a contractual offer that’s big enough.
Fair play to Madrid, though. They only go after the big fish and Rashford is certainly that. You just look at how well he has been playing over this last month or so, and it makes you wonder why Mourinho was so reluctant to play him through the middle.
We’ve got a real gem on our hands and United as a club should be doing their utmost to look after him. Homegrown talents like him don’t come around all that often…
