Manchester United’s goalkeeping situation has been completely up in the air since the end of last season, and as we enter the final few weeks the David de Gea situation still hasn’t been resolved, and Victor Valdes is still at the club.
According to ABC, Real Madrid are preparing to make a final offer of £21.4million for David de Gea this summer, and if that move fails then they’ll wait until next year and get him on a free transfer.
At the end of the day, Manchester United have been holding firm on this one all summer and it’d be bizarre to see Edward Woodward and Louis van Gaal accept this low offer late on in the window as it’d leave them extremely short on time to find an adequate replacement.
If De Gea does leave, all the talk has been about Jasper Cillissen of Ajax, who has worked with Louis van Gaal at international level. Although I’m not convinced he’s anywhere near the level of our flying Spaniard.
