Real Madrid value Paul Pogba at just £50m due to winding down contract: report

Manchester United Football Club’s Paul Pogba problem simply isn’t just going to disappear.

The Red Devils’ midfielder has played just seven games through injury this term, while his long-term future remains up in the air. However, the situation could be about to get even worse for United…

According to the Daily Mail, the United superstar 26-year-old is valued at just £50m by European giants Real Madrid. That’s due to a winding down contract, with twelve months left on his current deal.

Now the Old Trafford outfit do hold the option to extend that contract by a further twelve months if they so choose – which I’d expect they’ll trigger before this current season ends to protect their asset and try to raise his value.

Usually, I’m quick to get on United’s back when they let a contract wind down so easily, though their hand has been forced here. Pogba doesn’t want to be here and there’s no way he’ll sign a new deal.

In all honesty, I’d call his bluff and make him sit on the bench for the remainder of the season. After all, this is a player who’ll want to be involved in order to secure his place at the European Championships. That France squad is stacked with talent and quality, if Pogba isn’t playing regularly for club, there’s no way he waltzes straight into their starting XI.

Either way, when he does leave it’ll be good riddance to Pogba and good riddance to that snake Mino Raiola…
