Real Madrid could be willing to sell Cristiano Ronaldo back to Manchester United according to Diario Gol in Spain, translated by the Daily Star.
Apparently, Ronaldo, now 32, is demanding a huge contract to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu, and Florentino Perez is willing to consider a deal if the Red Devils submit a suitable bid for the former Old Trafford icon.
At the end of the day, every Manchester United fan would absolutely love to see Ronaldo back at the Theatre of Dreams. But, I’ve always thought it’d be highly unlikely. The Portugal star always wanted a move to Madrid when he was at United, and you cannot fault him for that. I just don’t understand why he’d want to leave the biggest club in the world at this stage in his career.
On top of that, it wouldn’t make good business sense to bring him back. I think it’s fair to say his best years are now behind him. Imagine if Jose Mourinho spent big to bring him in, for Ronaldo to get seriously injured and be forced to hang up his boots prematurely. It’s a risk that I don’t see United making anytime soon.
