Marouane Fellaini is set to stay at Manchester United, choosing to continue his Old Trafford career rather than moving to The Emirates.
That’s because Jose Mourinho offered him a better contract than Unai Emery did, according to The Times, per The Sun.
It did look as though Fellaini would be on his way out of Manchester after letting his contract run down, but now, United’s willingness to meet his financial demands has obviously helped change his mind.
For me, it was always clear that the self-proclaimed Special One wanted him to stay at the club. He seems to have gotten his wish.
Social media is now awash with angry and upset United fans, but honestly, I’m not quite sure why. The player is well within his rights to get himself the best financial deal possible. In fact, it’s the club’s fault for allowing his deal to run down.
As a plan B, I’ve no issue with Fellaini. When things are tight, late in games, the 30-year-old is going to make a nuisance out of himself in the opposition box. He will grab a goal from time-to-time, too…
