Reliable Man United journo explains whether Jose Mourinho will sign anyone on deadline day: report

The usually reliable Manchester United news outlet Duncan Castles has spoken. He has confirmed that the Red Devils will have a quiet transfer deadline day, with the squad to remain unchanged. That’s what Castles writes in his Yahoo article anyway.

Apparently, it is understood that Jose Mourinho is happy with his squad and they’ll be no outgoings. On top of that, the Old Trafford club will not be bringing in another attacker, nor a full-back.

Since Manchester United signed Nemanja Matic it has all gone relatively quiet on the transfer front. In my opinion, it just feels as though the right player hasn’t become available for Mourinho.

At the end of the day, you could make a case for the club to stick with what they’ve got anyway because the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have made strong starts to the season.

The report says that United were prepared to spend heavily on a world-class player like Cristiano Ronaldo, but it’s not always as easy as that.

Money has been spent, and lots of it. You cannot fault Edward Woodward because he’s gone about his business and eventually got the deals done for the red half of Manchester. Now, it’s down to the players within the squad to go out there and deliver the goods.
