Reliable source says 32-year-old wants Manchester United move this summer

Manchester United Football Club have worked hard on bringing players in through the Old Trafford turnstiles this summer, with the lure of Jose Mourinho giving the club the ability to bring in some genuinely world class footballers. His business may not be done quite yet, though.

That’s according to Andy Mitten who writes for ESPN. He reckons that Jose is after an experienced centre-back who can act as a leader across our back four – and the man at the forefront at the moment is Southampton’s Jose Fonte.

The 32-year-old represented his nation out in France during the European Championships and had a fantastic tournament. He has been playing on the South coast for years now, but it is believed he is interested in making a move to Manchester.

Manchester United won’t be alone in pursuit of Jose Fonte though. Mitten adds that Arsenal are also keen to add a centre-back this summer, and he is rather high on their list. Hopefully, Jose’s pull will be enough to swing the deal our way if this interest is backed up by an official bid.
