Manchester United Football Club have made a brilliant start to the season, with Jose Mourinho’s men looking in superb form. The Red Devils currently sit joint-top of the table with fierce rivals Manchester City, but they are certainly looking in excellent shape at this moment in time.
Former Red legend Bryan Robson has had his say on his former employers, and he’s putting the early season success down to two players in particular. Captain Marvel has highlighted both Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, who have both improved massively at the start of this season.
The pair have given the Old Trafford club that extra goal threat in the final third and that has proven extremely vital right now. They’re in great form, and when one doesn’t have an impact on the match, the other seems to come to the fore and rightly take all the plaudits.
“The squad looks solid,” Robson said to Sky Sports News. “It’s a good, confident start to the season.”
“The one thing I felt at the start of the season was that if Rashford and Martial could start the season with a bit of confidence and improve from last year but score more goals, United have a real chance of winning the title and they can be there and thereabouts.”
“That’s exactly what has happened. Marcus and Martial have been scoring goals, they are looking confident. They are looking that little bit better, as is their understanding of the game from last season.”
“With those two doing so well at the start of the season – that holds us in good stead.”
As Robbo says, I reckon United do have a genuine chance at winning the Premier League title this season. We have an absolute master at the helm in Mourinho, and he’s slowly but surely putting together a team more than capable of winning major pieces of silverware.
We have to remember that this is just the start and there are some stern tests to come in the next few fixtures. If we can come through those, that’ll give us a real indicator as to where we’re at.
