Romelu Lukaku told he can leave provided there is a good offer: report

After splashing £75million plus add-ons to sign Romelu Lukaku two years ago, it seems as though Manchester United aren’t fully convinced by what the Belgium international has done in that time.

It’s fair to say Marcus Rashford is now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-choice striker, while Lukaku has drifted in and out of the team over the last six months.

In today’s print edition of Het Belang van Limburg, translated via Sport Witness, we’ve been given the clearest indication that the 26-year-old could be on his way out of Old Trafford…

There report claims that it has been ‘made clear’ to Lukaku that he can leave United this summer – but only provided a ‘good offer’ is tabled for his services.

In today’s print edition of HBVL.

HBVL go on to state that there could be an issue in terms of transfer fee as United aren’t going to want to lose money on the man they signed from Everton in 2017.

At this stage, I’d rate it at 50/50 as to whether Lukaku goes, but you do get the impression that United aren’t really fussed either way. One thing has become clear, he’ll only leave if another club wants him badly enough to pay a premium price for his talent.
