According to the Daily Star, Manchester United have been in negotiations with Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo for the past 12 days, to bring Ronaldo back to Old Trafford in an £80million deal. The Daily Star are running this as a ‘world exclusive’ transfer, but I’d take this with a pinch of salt.
The tabloid are reporting that Ed Woodward made contact with Fiorentino Perez in an attempt to try and bring Ronaldo back to United. Then Perez wanted assurances that the 28-year old would commit to a new Real Madrid deal, which he hasn’t as of yet.
Just last month the same paper were reporting another exclusive, this time suggesting that local neighbours Manchester City had made a bid for the Madrid man.
Since then, United have failed with bids for both Thiago and Cesc Fabregas, and Ronaldo himself has declared himself happy at the Santiago Bernabéu. So unfortunately I cannot see a move in this transfer window at least.
