Ronaldo set to sign for United today, remember?

A couple of weeks ago, The Sun reported that August 8th would be the day Cristiano Ronaldo would return to Manchester United in a deal worth €80million. The majority of United fans expect this to be fake, myself included. So I’ll guess we’ll see if anything happens today.

The Real Madrid player has an absolutely ridiculous record in the Spanish capital, scoring 201 goals in 199 appearances in all competitions.

We could possibly try and use Rooney in a deal if we did want to bring Ronnie back, but it looks as though Wayne is intent on staying in England.

Any United fan who wouldn’t want him back at the club would be absolutely crazy, but I just can’t believe it. With Gareth Bale seemingly set for Madrid at some point this week, Ronaldo ‘may’ get unhappy about that and want to leave, but even so why would Old Trafford be his destination?

If its money he’s after, PSG and Monaco are the clubs he’ll be looking at. He wants a reported £300k a week contract and I doubt that we’d be willing to pay anywhere near that.
