Ronaldo ‘Welcome to Manchester’ banner spotted at Manchester Piccadilly

Yes, I’m still pinching myself this morning. However, Cristiano Ronaldo is moving back home.

It’s still extremely surreal, never in a million years did I think we’d see Ronaldo back in Manchester United colours. Well, it’s happening, with the Portuguese star calling time on his Juventus career.

To us here, the Manchester City rumours hurt, though United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer were never going to just let that happen. No doubt Sir Alex Ferguson had his say, too.

In a matter of hours, a deal with Ronaldo and Juventus was reached, with the Red Devils confirming a move for the 36-year-old on social media last night.

Shortly after that, a ‘Welcome to Manchester’ banner popped up at Manchester Piccadilly train station. Credit to the lads and lasses behind that who certainly worked quickly to get that sorted!

Check out the banner here:

Honestly, I dunno if it’s because we beat Manchester City to the deal, but that definitely makes it all-the-sweeter. Pep Guardiola must have been certain a deal for Ronaldo was all-but done, but United swooped in at the eleventh hour and made an impossible dream turn into reality.

Ronaldo is coming home. The Greatest Player of All Time is going to be playing for our club over the next couple of years. It’s still not quite sunk in.

This definitely aids us in our quest to win a first Premier League title in almost a decade, while Ronaldo will no doubt score goals galore for the Red Devils. Hopefully, it’s enough to help us line the trophy cabinet with some silverware this term. I don’t see why that can’t happen…

Who says Solskjaer can’t attract big players, huh?

Can Cristiano Ronaldo fire us to a title? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
