Rooney and RvP Pick Up Injuries

The injury curse has seemingly struck again, this time star strikers Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie have both fallen victim. Rooney was subbed off on Saturday after picking up an ankle injury, and Van Persie has picked up a thigh injury, both players have been ruled out of national duty for England and Holland respectively.

It seems ridiculous to have a friendly sandwiched in the middle of two Premier League games, so it wouldn’t surprise me if both players are fit and Sir Alex has pulled them out as a precaution, I wouldn’t be shocked if both are ready to go at Carrow Road on Saturday.

However if these are genuine injuries, then there is definite cause for concern, according to Physio Room an ankle injury could keep Robin van Persie out for around three weeks, and a thigh problem could keep Rooney out for a similar period of time, it just depends on the severity of the injury.
