United and England striker Wayne Rooney is becoming increasingly frustrated with his club after Chelsea had a second bid for the player rejected by Manchester United last night. Rooney, 27, is now ready to hand in a formal transfer request just as the season is about to get underway, according to The Mail.
They claim that Chelsea’s second bid was thought to be in the region of £25million, but the club are willing to pay up to £30million to get their #1 transfer target. David Moyes’ stance has always been firm though, Wayne Rooney is not for sale at any price.
Rooney played in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Real Betis at the weekend and completed the first half, and Moyes has always said that he’ll travel to Stockholm for the game against AIK on Tuesday evening. However it is thought that he’ll hand in an official transfer request before Rio Ferdinand’s testimonial on Friday.
