Rudi Garcia speaks out on Man United rumours

Rudi Garcia was asked about rumours linking him with the Man United job.

Manchester United are yet to appoint their new manager. All the early talk suggested that Mauricio Pochettino was ready to take the permanent job mid-season. However, the Argentine has distanced himself from those stories.

In the meantime, it looks like an interim gaffer will take charge, presumably until the end of the season. Yesterday, there were stories claiming that out-of-work Rudi Garcia was interviewed for the position.

Yesterday, the manager spoke out on rumours linking him with the United job – though he remained tight-lipped and refused to give us any concrete information.

Check out what Rudi Garcia had to say here:

“I am not used to commenting on rumours in my career. I will say nothing on the subject. I neither confirm nor deny.” Garcia told Canal+, per GFFN.

When people don’t come straight out and deny the rumours, I always feel like there’s some truth in them. I firmly believe Garcia was interviewed for the job. I fairly believe he wants the position, too.

Garcia has done some brilliant work during his managerial career. He’s a manager with a proven track record of taking over sides who are struggling and improving them from day one.

Whether or not he’s someone who can win Premier League titles with United remains to be seen, though I do believe the club could do far worse than hiring the Frenchman on a short-term basis.

I just hoped that United will have had someone in place for this weekend’s game against Chelsea. Time is running out for that to happen and it looks like Michael Carrick will remain in charge…

Hopefully, we’re not kept waiting too much longer because the more time goes on, the harder it’ll be to start climbing back up the league table.

Would Rudi Garcia be a good choice as interim manager? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
