Ryan Giggs set to quit Manchester United in the summer

Ryan Giggs has been part of the Manchester United first-team fold for the best part of twenty-five years now, and at the ripe old age of forty, the veteran looks set to leave Manchester United at the end of the season. There was thought to be an offer of a permanent coaching role on the table, but it is believed Giggs is set to move on.

It’d be a bitter blow if what the Daily Mail are reporting is true, because without doubt Giggs is one of the many legends this club has had the honour to witness playing.

The player-coach hasn’t featured as much as he would’ve liked to this season, and although everyone expected the winger to stay on in a coaching role, it looks as though Giggs is to follow Paul Scholes’ lead and walk out on United.

Whether this is due to the reported spat with David Moyes, or whether Ryan just fancies a new challenge I guess we’ll never know, but I have to admit that its hugely disappointing that he feels the best option for him is to walk away from the club he has been a part of for most of his life.
