According to the Guardian, a deal for Louis van Gaal to be installed as Manchester United’s new manager is close to completion – with Ryan Giggs believed to have been offered a job on the 62-year olds coaching staff for next season.
Ryan Giggs himself has to remain focused on the two remaining games of the season beforehand, after losing 1-0 at Old Trafford to an in-form Sunderland Athletic side.
Also believed to be on Van Gaal’s coaching staff is Patrick Kluivert, who is set to come in as assistant manager which is a new role for the Dutchman, making it slightly surprising.
No deal is set in stone yet regarding Ryan Giggs and his role, as he could still decide to play on for another year. Personally, I’d like to see him call it a day in terms of his playing career, and focus on the coaching side of things and learn under Louis van Gaal for a few seasons. If he adapts to the role, Giggs could well be in-line for the managers job in a few years time.
