Ryan Giggs will replace Van Gaal as Man Utd manager, claims the boss

Following David Moyes’ sacking this time last year, Giggs took over as boss for the remaining four league games of the season. Giggs described his managerial time at the club as the ‘proudest moment of his career’.

Van Gaal’s contract expires in 2017, as he signed a three-year-deal last summer. He told MUTV:

“I expect he [Giggs] will be the next manager after I am gone.”

“Now I have the responsibility. He has tasks that he has to perform like the players [do]. What he has to do, for me, he does it very well.”

If Giggs does succeed van Gaal, I think some United fans would be right in questioning the club’s decision.

Giggs only has four games of managerial experience, so seeing him taking over at Old Trafford could be seen as a huge risk. It’d also put his great club legacy at risk.
