Jadon Sancho is now just a couple of days away from becoming a Man United player.
Well, it has been a long, hard slog, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is close to landing his man.
Manchester United have been clamouring to sign Jadon Sancho for at least a couple of years. Now, we’re just a couple of days away from that dream becoming a reality.
After agreeing a fee with Borussia Dortmund, with personal terms expected to be no issue, it was then just a case of waiting for a medical to be completed before an official announcement.
Now, it’s claimed by Sam Pilger that United are officially expected to complete the signing of the star over the next 24-48 hours. Pilger is normally spot on when it comes to United news, while the timeframe definitely makes sense.
Sancho’s now back from international duty, meaning he can undergo his United medical, which is expected to take place today.
Following completion of medical comes a photoshoot for the official snaps to be taken, while United will likely interview the Englishman and get that all edited before officially confirming Sancho as a United player.
At which point, Sancho will jet off for his summer holidays. Those are expected to last for about three weeks, meaning he’ll miss a good chunk of the Red Devils’ pre-season schedule.
Sadly, that already places doubt on Sancho’s availability for the season’s start. I’d be surprised if he gets the nod from the off against Leeds United during our opener. He may well be named amongst the substitutes, though.
Hopefully, we’ll hear something official before the weekend. I can’t wait to see those photos of Sancho wearing United colours for the first time!
