Just yesterday, we covered a story from Football Insider in which it was claimed that Manchester United were in pole position to sign Jadon Sancho.
That was due to Liverpool not wanting to compete financially, in a deal that’ll likely cost over £100million in terms of transfer fee.
Today, United have been further boosted in pursuit of Sancho, as the star 20-year-old isn’t interested in a move to our direct rival, Chelsea. That’s according to Diario Madridista, who also add that the Reds are in ‘pole position’ once again…
There was one small caveat, mind, as Real Madrid still remain interested. Los Blancos are one of the few sides who can compete with United when it comes to finances, while their recent history in regards to winning trophies definitely gives them the advantage.
Simply put, It feels as though United will win the race if Sancho decides to move back to his homeland. Madrid could pose a serious threat, but it depends how badly they want to sign the Englishman.
It goes without saying that Sancho’s addition would be the marquee signing that the Red Devils are craving. He also fits the young player-profile that Solskjaer has shown a preference towards. He’s interested in building a team in the long-term, as opposed to a quick-fix or stop-gap solution. Jadon Sancho could well be a key part of that.
