Sao Paulo Vice-President Confirms Bids For Moura

The vice-president of Sao Paulo, Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes has today confirmed that we have put a bid in for Brazilian starlet Lucas Moura. He indicated that our bid is being considered by the club, however he claims Real Madrid have tabled a bid too.

Jao Paulo said: “With regards to the offers from Manchester United and Real Madrid, we are studying them internally.” He continued “We cannot say anything else for obvious reasons. Everyone knows that there is a release clause of €80 million for all those who want to sign Lucas.”

If true, you just can’t see him choosing Real Madrid over us in the current situation, however he’d be a welcome acquisition if he were to make the move to Old Trafford.

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has also revealed that the Serie A side are also interested in the youngster, Sao Paulo reportedly turned down a £10million bid from Inter in January, however they are said to be readying a new bid for him.

When asked about the 19-year old by Inter’s official website, Moratti said: “Yes we have but the progress that has been made is to see whether or not there is a chance (to buy the player).

“Now we have to see if we can manage to carry it out. He said. “These are things that have to take place by putting everything together, which also means taking a look at our revenue.”

Lucas will be representing Brazil at the upcoming Olympic games in London.
