Saul Niguez ‘wanted’ at Man United, club ready to offer £65m: report

Manchester United Football Club still have a decision to make regarding Paul Pogba, who, in my opinion, looks all-but out the Old Trafford exit door.

Replacing a player of that talent is never going to be easy. After all, we’re talking about someone who is amongst the best in the world in his position.

But credit where it’s due, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done brilliantly in the transfer market. Why should we doubt our Baby Faced Assassin?

A name that keeps popping up is Saul Niguez.

On April 17th, Spanish media outlet AS further fuelled that fire. They’re claiming that the star 25-year-old midfielder is ‘wanted’ at United, with the club ready to offer £65m (€75m) for the Spaniard’s services.

The £65m is half of Saul’s current release clause, however, AS explain that it’s a cut-price deal that Atletico Madrid may be forced to accept due to the global pandemic that’s making all the headlines right now.

As we all know, being in the Champions League is a huge money-maker for every European outfit. Well, right now, there’s a real possibility that the season could be ended early. Atletico Madrid currently sit in sixth place in La Liga, they may well find themselves playing Europa League football next term…

Financially, Atletico may struggle to keep ahold of, and pay their stars, while United could offer Saul a significant pay-rise.

Saul is a great footballer. He’d be perfect for the system that Solskjaer is currently running and dare I say he’d be an upgrade on Pogba? After all, the Frenchman hasn’t really lived up to his potential back in Manchester…
