Scott McTominay provides positive injury update for Man Utd fans

It’s no secret that Manchester United Football Club have a squad that has been absolutely decimated by injuries all season long.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been working with one hand tied behind his back at times, making it wholly tougher for the Baby Faced Assassin to string positive results together.

The most hardest-hit position has been midfield. Paul Pogba has only started six games all term, while on Boxing Day, United would lose Scott McTominay who suffered a serious injury.

Well today, United have been handed a positive injury update from the key midfielder, with McTominay looking to make a return as soon as possible.

“I am feeling good, hopefully, do my best to be back on the pitch as soon as I possibly can,” McTominay said, per Sky Sports.

“Obviously the gym work is tough, the running outside is tough. You just have to do your best and obviously make sure your injury is right. Hopefully, I will be back as soon as possibly can.”

The good news is that our Scot is definitely on the right track and no doubt this winter break comes at a good time for him now that he’s back in the gym.

I don’t think McTominay’s influence can be underestimated. The 23-year-old has been simply scintillating this term and before he picked up his injury, I definitely had him in the running to win Manchester United’s Player of the Season award.

For Solskjaer, it’ll be about not rushing it. The last thing United want to do is bring McTominay back prematurely, then be without him in the long-term. That said, with Reds fighting it out on multiple fronts, we’re definitely going to need McTominay for the all-important run-in.
