Scott McTominay ‘ready’ for more minutes after Watford cameo

Manchester United Football Club have seen their form trend upwards over the last few games, as the Red Devils look to close the gap on the rest of the top-four.

Credit for that has to go to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, perhaps even moreso when you consider how the squad has been decimated by injury all season long.

The good news is that players are now returning, with Scott McTominay amongst them. After making a 10-15 minute cameo against Watford on Sunday, the Baby Faced Assassin has kept the good news flowing in regards to the star 22-year-old.

While speaking to United’s in-house channel this morning, Solskjaer dropped a team news hint ahead of Brugge away, as the key star McTominay continues his injury recovery. According to the boss, the midfielder is ‘ready for more minutes than the 10-15 he got the other day.’

“He’s ready for more minutes than the 10-15 he got the other day,” Solskjaer told MUTV, per the Manchester Evening News. “He’s training really hard and has come back, if possible, more motivated and ready for the last part of the season.

Now I’m not wholly convinced that this means McTominay will start, rather he’ll be in the squad, perhaps on the bench, and maybe come on at the hour mark as opposed to the 80th minute.

Either way, this is good news. McTominay seems certain to play at least some part in the game this weekend, and I can’t wait to see him back involved.

What it means is that Nemanja Matic now isn’t doing all the defensive-midfield work on his own. In turn, the Serbian will now be more well-rested, thus putting in better performances when he’s called upon. It feels like a win-win situation for everyone.

Now, it’s down to United to do the business tonight and book their place in the last sixteen of the Europa League. Come on boys!
