Scott McTominay shares positive injury update ahead of Brighton game

Man United midfielder, Scott McTominay, has taken to Instagram to share a positive injury update.

Manchester United have been hit by an influx of injuries lately, with the Red Devils’ sheer number of games starting to catch up with them.

They’ve lost some key players at crucial times. Perhaps that can explain the brutal Europa League exit to Sevilla. Credit where it’s due, though, the lads who are fit have bounced back well.

One man who missed that European double-header was Scott McTominay. The United academy product has been dealing with an issue over the last few weeks, leaving United somewhat thin in the midfield department.

Well, the 26-year-old has confirmed he’ll be back ‘soon’, via his Instagram page, offering United a much-needed injury boost.

Although McTominay isn’t a regular starter, it’s obviously better to have him available than not. He’s often coming off the bench under Ten Hag, or starting games when the likes of Christian Eriksen need a rest.

I’ve always stated that as a rotational piece, United could do far worse than McTominay. He’s someone who is not afraid to get stuck in, become physical when the need arises and he will chip in with goals here and there.

There have been recent reports suggesting that he could be on his way out of United, which is also fair. He’s someone who wants to be starting every week and I do not see United standing in his way if the right offer does come in.

For now, both United and McTominay need to focus on closing out the season strongly, before working out where his future lies this summer.

Do you think Scott McTominay should be kept at the club beyond the summer? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
