Scott McTominay shows passion as he helps Scotland qualify for EURO 2021

Scott McTominay helped his native Scotland qualify for the European Championships next summer, courtesy of a penalty shootout victory over Serbia.

To their credit, Scotland were excellent against a Serbia side who are infinitely more talented. But for a late Luka Jovic equaliser, the Scots would have won the game 1-0 and booked their place in the EURO’s far easier.

However, trust Scotland to do it the hard way. They’d concede in the 90th minute, but battle through a tough injury time and force a penalty shootout. The Scots would score all five of theirs, with McTominay tucking his away beautifully before a David Marshall save would send the whole nation into jubilation.

McTominay, although born in Lancaster, has stated it was always a no-brainer that he’d pledge his allegiance to Scotland rather than England. That decision is certainly paying off.

For the first time in over twenty years, Scotland would qualify for the European Championships. Ironically, they’ll meet England in the group stages at Wembley Stadium. A game which will be a fiery affair.

Anyway at full-time, the photos of Scott McTominay’s passionate celebrations were doing the rounds. We compiled a couple of our favourites via our Twitter page. He absolutely loves it, doesn’t he!?

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this passion, either. His celebration during that memorable victory in Paris a couple of years ago has always stuck in my head, while he always plays with a fiery desire so it shouldn’t really be a surprise.

More than anything, this is a massive confidence-booster for the young man. He’s now a crucial part of the Manchester United midfield, alongside Fred and Bruno Fernandes. That doesn’t look like changing anytime soon.

All credit to him. You can see exactly what it means, too! Congratulations, Scott!
