Scott McTominay is the latest Man United star to join in on pre-season training.
Slowly but surely, Manchester United players are returning to action ahead of the 2021/22 season.
This pre-season was always going to be an odd one, simply due to the fact that both the Copa America and European Championships were being played. It meant that several United players were going to get extra time off as they look to recharge the batteries ahead of a title charge over the next eight months or so.
It was a youthful side that took to the field against Derby County on Sunday. Since then, a few more familiar faces have returned to action – as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer puts his players through their paces at a pre-season training camp down in Surrey.
Amongst them was none other than Scott McTominay. The 24-year-old United star was pictured in action for the first time this pre-season, working hard in the gym ahead of the Reds’ game against QPR this coming weekend.

McTominay is amongst the first players who competed at EURO 2020 to return, purely because his Scotland side were knocked out at the group stage. For what it’s worth, our midfielder has a great tournament.
The progression from McTominay as a player is there for all to see. He’s come on leaps and bounds since making the jump into the first-team here at United. However, I can’t help but feel there’s still more needed from the Scot if he’s to play regularly in a top-tier side.
Hopefully, McTominay can continue to grow this season. No doubt he’ll be given ample opportunity to do so as right now, he’s our best choice in that holding-midfield role.
Welcome back, Scott!
