Roy Hodgson has today named his England squad for the upcoming friendly against Scotland, and seven United players have made his 25-man squad for the game – including the supposed ‘injured’ Wayne Rooney. There are also places in the squad for Wilfried Zaha, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones.
Its excellent to see the England squad contain so many Manchester United players, but the game is sandwiched in the middle of the Community Shield and the start of the Premier League season, which is a bit of a problem.
Sam Johnstone, Michael Keane, Tom Thorpe and Jesse Lingard have also been included in the England u21 squad.
