Man United youngster, Shea Lacey, has seen his season end prematurely due to injury.
Manchester United have not shied away from giving younger players their first team opportunities this season. Some of those decisions have been forced due to injuries decimating the squad, though Erik ten Hag does have some incredibly talented players at his disposal.
Perhaps the pick of the bunch is Shea Lacey. The young attacker has flourished at youth level this season, continuing his development and signing his first pro contract at Old Trafford.
The Liverpudlian looks the real deal. You only have to watch him play for just a few minutes to understand that he’s seriously closing in on making that leap to the first-team.
Sadly, that will no longer happen this season. It had been suggested that Lacey was pencilled in to make his debut before the end of the term, though an injury has struck
The super-talented United youngster confirmed the gutting blow via his social media last night, stating that his season has finished early.
Check out Shea Lacey’s X post on the sad news here:

Lacey’s attention is now fully on recovering in time for the new term. Unless this is a super serious injury problem, the winger should be good to go when pre-season rolls around.
That then leaves the manager with a decision to make. Is Lacey ready to make the jump up to first-team football already? Will he feature on pre-season? My initial answer is yes, assuming Ten Hag is still in the job.
I am eager to watch Lacey in action, albeit in friendly matches. He’s a player who I firmly believe will skip the loan system and make the jump straight up to senior football at the highest level over the next twelve months.
