Sheffield United will try to secure the loan signature of Manchester United’s James Wilson in January, according to the IB Times.
Wilson, now 22, burst onto the scene back in 2014 when Ryan Giggs took interim charge of Manchester United, and scored two goals on his debut.
However, injuries have seriously hampered his development, although he’s back fit and playing again, albeit for United’s U23s team.
Several clubs have expressed an interest in the young forward, but it seems as though The Blades are leading the charge at present.
Regular football is exactly what Wilson needs, and he’s still young enough at 22 to make a real name for himself within football.
I don’t necessarily think it’s all over for him at Old Trafford, either. If he can go out on loan for the remainder of the season, score a few goals and begin to regain that confidence, then he could still make an impression here.
He clearly has the talent, now it’s up to him to prove his desire to make it at the highest level. I hope he gets his move then takes his opportunity with both hands.
