Man United youngster, Shola Shoretire, will head to Bolton on loan until the end of the season.

Manchester United Football Club haven’t really the minutes to go around to give many young players their chances this season, but for the likes of Alejandro Garnacho.

One young player who has been on the fringes of the first-team for what feels like multiple years is Shola Shoretire. The attacking midfielder, who is far too good for both U18 and U23 football, has been training with the senior squad for quite some time now.

However, the chances haven’t been coming his way due to the quality ahead of him in the pecking order. A couple of days ago, there were whispers of a loan move for the talented teen, who is still only eighteen years old.

Well yesterday, those rumours came to fruition, with United confirming that Shoretire would head to Bolton Wanderers on loan for the remainder of the 2022/23 campaign.

League One side Bolton find themselves in a promotion dogfight, currently sitting in fifth in the table, trying to assure themselves of a place in the playoff places as the very least.

No doubt Shoretire is eager to help out with that push between now and May.

First and foremost, Shoretire will need some time to get fully up to speed with his new teammates, learning a new system, too. He’ll likely be drip-fed minutes of the bench until the manager feels confident in handing him starts.

This will be an excellent test for Shoretire, at a very decent level. It’s also beneficial that Bolton is only 20 minutes away from Manchester, meaning the coaches can go and check in on Shoretire as and when necessary.

Best of luck, Shola!
