At Manchester United, the future continues to look incredibly bright. Now, Shola Shoretire is in line for some first-team training.
Understandably, at U23 level, it’s Amad Diallo scooping all the headlines. However, the young Ivorian isn’t the only one impressing.
You have Joe Hugill, Charlie McNeil, Hannibal Mejbri and the aforementioned Diallo. However, it’s another name who is loving life at United right now; Shola Shoretire.
According to The Athletic (Laurie Whitwell), the United starlet is set to join first-team training – which would be his first action with the senior squad. Apparently, Shoretire could be involved with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side as early as this week…
The Athletic state that Shoretire is set to continue his progression by linking up with the main squad. Which definitely makes sense given how impressive the 17-year-old has looked over the last few weeks.
Apparently, Shoretire isn’t alone in catching Solskjaer’s attention, either. Hannibal Mejbri who is claimed as another in contention, though this week may be too soon due to an ankle injury. Furthermore, Mejbri’s mentality has been classed as ‘excellent’, while his on-field performances speak for themselves.
The future is bright for Shola Shoretire
It’s a bold shout, but Shoretire may be the biggest talent at Old Trafford right now. This young man can absolutely play at the highest level. Quick, two-footed, an excellent eye for a pass and a great shooter of the ball, too. He has it all.
Naturally, it’s now time for Shoretire to take that next step and continue to progress. Linking up with the United first-team will only help out in that regard.
For what it’s worth, I still doubt we’ll see a Shoretire first-team debut this season as he still needs to fill out somewhat. However, if there is a pre-season tour this summer, I’d expect him to be involved.
