Shola Shoretire has signed his first professional contract at Manchester United.
Manchester United Football Club has always been the place to be for young, emerging talent. The Red Devils have never shied away from giving youth a chance. It’s in their DNA.
Credit to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for continuing that mantra this term, while looking at the current U23s setup, we’re going to benefit from this over the next few years, too.
Recently, all the talk is about Amad Diallo, Facundo Pellistri and Hannibal Mejbri. However, for me, the most talented youngster at the club at the moment is Shola Shoretire.
Now, the club have confirmed that the United starlet has signed his first professional contract – just a few days after scoring a stunning hat-trick against Blackburn Rovers’ U23s.
As you can see from the photo below, Shoretire looked delighted!

The 17-year-old has been with United since the age of nine. Now, he’s starting to show everyone just how good he can be.
Just earlier today, we covered a claim from The Athletic, who stated Shoretire was set to join in with first-team training sessions. We’ve since learned that the Englishman was actually involved with Solskjaer’s main squad today.
I think this speaks to his immense ability. That said, I’m not sure we’ll see Shoretire thrown into a senior game this season – barring major injury to our starters, of course…
Shoretire is still so young. For me, I’d like to think he’ll feature in the pre-season (provided United have a mini-tour organised or something), before starting to be dripfed minutes as a rotational option in the 2021/22 season.
Congratulations on the new deal, Shola!
