Sky: Inter Milan considering January move for Man United’s Nemanja Matic

Manchester United Football Club are heading in a different direction under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, that much is obvious.

It’s going to take the Red Devils time to fully acclimatise and adapt to new tactics and a fresh system. For that, sometimes new players have to be signed while others will be let go.

Amongst those who have fallen out of favour is Nemanja Matic. The Serb has only featured in five matches thus far this season. Now, aged 31, he’s at the stage in his career where he needs to be playing with regularity.

Well according to Sky Sports, European giants Inter Milan are considering a January move for the United star, with Antonio Conte keen for a reunion with Matic.

Back in 2017, Conte ‘lamented’ Chelsea’s decision to sell Matic to United, seeing the midfielder as ‘one of the key players’ in his team. After adding both Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez since making the move to Inter, it seems as though he’s ready to add a third Red Devil.

For United, Scott McTominay is definitely the way forward. The Scot has proven he’s a better player than Matic in this system, so why not press ahead with the 22-year-old and let the older player go? It certainly makes sense, providing the right financial offer comes in of course…
