Sky: Inter to make £60m bid plus bonuses for Man United forward Romelu Lukaku

Manchester United Football Club are in the middle of a major overhaul at present, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the man tasked with completing the transformation.

One rumour that just won’t stop circulating is Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan. Well, it looks as though a new offer from the Serie A giants is just on the horizon…

The story comes from Sky Sports News, who say that Inter will make a fresh bid of £60million, plus bonuses, for the 26-year-old forward.

However, there is a catch as Inter hope the offer can be structured over two or three years, in an effort to get closer to United’s valuation of Lukaku.

Apparently, though, United have told Inter chiefs that they’d like more than the £79million that they paid to sign Lukaku from Everton in 2017. In my opinion, they’re well within their rights to demand that, as the Belgium international has scored 42 goals in 96 appearances across all competitions in United colours.

The whole payment plan proposal from Inter leaves massive doubts in my mind about whether this move will happen. United would want the cash up-front so they can re-invest the money straight into the squad, what good does £20m per season for the next three years do?

My honest opinion is that Lukaku will end up staying at United for that very reason, although that’s not a bad thing as Lukaku is an excellent striker.
