Manchester United fans may have another worrying summer to endure, with Real Madrid lining up a bid for David de Gea.
That’s according to Sky Sports Italy, per Sky correspondent Kaveh Solhekol. Apparently, De Gea is Madrid’s first-choice option, and if that move fails then they’ll go for AS Roma’s Alisson.
The 27-year-old De Gea had another sensational season at Old Trafford. He continued to make truly out of this world saves, on the way to winning yet another Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award.
We’re talking about the best goalkeeper on the planet. The Spaniard has certainly established himself as the top Premier League man, and perhaps a return home would certainly be an intriguing prospect for De Gea.
After watching Madrid win yet another Champions League trophy last night, he must at least be considering the opportunity to return back to Spain – and to be honest, you’d find it hard to blame him.
Thankfully, though, the ball is in United’s court. He’s still under contract at the Theatre of Dreams and the club certainly don’t need the money. Unless Jose Mourinho thinks he can cope without him, then I highly doubt our #1 will be going anywhere this summer.
Sky Italy: Real Madrid will try to sign David De Gea from Manchester United again this summer. If that fails, will offer €70m for Roma goalkeeper Alisson
