Sky: Man United consider late Eriksen move before Thursday’s deadline

Manchester United could well be looking to push a fourth major signing over the line before the transfer window slams shut.

There have been a few rumours swirling suggesting United are interested in Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen. We covered one update on the brewing saga from ESPN.

Now, the British media’s big fish have had their say. According to Sky Sports News, Manchester United are considering a late move for the 27-year-old Dane before Thursday’s deadline, though there has been no direct contact between the clubs as of yet.

Furthermore, any potential move for Eriksen isn’t totally dependent on Paul Pogba leaving Old Trafford this summer, with United expecting the mercurial Frenchman to remain at the club.

The prospect of having a team containing both Eriksen and Pogba is an exciting one. Factor in an improving Scott McTominay and our midfield suddenly looks a whole lot better.

However, it’s all ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ at this point in time. We’re dealing with hypotheticals. Despite Eriksen having just a year left on his current contract, I have my doubts about whether Spurs would be willing to sell to a direct rival.

With just over 48 hours left in the window, time is running out pretty quickly, too…
