Sky: Man United swap deal with Juventus involving Dybala & Lukaku ‘as good as done’

Out of nowhere, an insane swap deal involving Manchester United and Juventus is seemingly progressing rapidly.

The players involved are Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku and late last night, Sky Sports gave us a big update on the saga. First and foremost, they state that their Italian branch understands that Fabio Paratici (Juve’s Sporting Director) has landed in England for talks with United, as well as both agents, in order to reach a deal and ‘complete the exchange’.

Furthermore, one source has told Sky Sports News that United’s move for the 25-year-old Dybala, with Lukaku heading the other way, is ‘as good as done’ – as long as the Argentine agrees to the switch. Right now, the deal hinges on the Juve man…

I’m just amazed at how quickly things are moving on this one. For Ole Gunnar Solskjaer you get the impression that Lukaku is surplus to requirements, and to ship him on, while getting a top-quality player in return would be an absolute masterstroke.

I guess the only concern now is if United can convince Dybala that an Old Trafford switch is a good option at this point in time. The lack of Champions League football on the table is a real concern, but if Solskjaer can make him feel welcome enough, perhaps he can be persuaded into a Theatre of Dreams switch…
