Manchester United Football Club are doing their utmost to make up for their summer wrongdoings in January, it seems…
According to Sky Sports News, Jose Mourinho is interested in bolstering his defensive line, with United considering making a January approach for Fiorentina centre-back, Nikola Milenkovic.
Apparently, over the summer, the Serie A side turned down an offer of £36million for the 21-year-old defender who can also play right-back, while they won’t be letting Milenkovic leave for anything under £50million.
The Serbian has been impressive for Fiorentina this season, playing in all twelve of their league matches, while also scoring two goals over that time-frame.
He’s a player that I personally haven’t seen much of, however, I’d take anyone right now. There is no doubt that he’d be a marked upgrade on what we have already, as let’s be honest, he cannot be any worse than an injury-prone Phil Jones at this point in time…
If I did hold one concern, it’d be the fact that he’s young, and January is a notoriously difficult time to adapt into new surroundings. Plus, he’d also be joining a defensive group who are low on confidence. The last thing we’d need is another player coming in who would get that bug and start to put in poor performances as well…
