Manchester United have several wrongs to right when the January transfer window opens, although there is probably far too much work to do in one window.
It is reassuring to see the Red Devils putting the feelers out in the direction of potential new signings, however. The latest name to be rumoured with an Old Trafford move is Lyon starlet, Tanguy N’Dombele.
According to Sky Sources, United are amongst a whole host of Premier League clubs tracking the insanely gifted 21-year-old, although it does look as though the midfielder won’t be going anywhere in January.
Lyon are still playing in the Champions League, while the Frenchman is playing week-in-week-out football. There is no way that the Ligue 1 club would let such a vital asset go in the middle of a highly important campaign.
However, looking forward, this guy would be an incredible signing. He’d bring some much-needed energy and drive to a struggling midfield, and playing alongside his compatriot, Paul Pogba, that’d be a duo which would strike fear into opposing teams’ eyes.
Beating out competition from the likes of Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur isn’t going to be easy, though. To convince N’Dombele to choose us, we’d need to have a stellar second half of the season.
