Manchester United’s squad has already undergone somewhat of a transformation this summer, with Jose Mourinho bringing in a few players to freshen things up. However, his work isn’t done there and he still wants to add to his squad further.
According to Sky Sources, one man on Manchester United’s wishlist is former midfield general, Paul Pogba. The Frenchman left the club in acrimonious circumstances back in 2012, as he chose to walk away on a free transfer due to a lack of playing time.
In the four years since, Pogba has become one of the best all-round midfielders on the planet, guiding his side to a whole host of trophies out in Serie A.
Sky add that Pogba would cost in excess of £80million to buy back, but Manchester United can certainly afford that transfer fee. It will be a bitter blow for the board though, as they already had him on their books ever so recently.
If, somehow Manchester United could get this deal to go through, it would further show just how huge of a club United is – particularly without Champions League football on the table.
