Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay is the subject of loan talks between the Red Devils and Celtic Football Club.
That’s according to Sky Sports News, who say that the 22-year-old is available for loan following a failure to play regularly since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took charge.
The midfielder made his debut under Jose Mourinho and played quite frequently when the self-proclaimed Special One was in charge. However, he’s made just one start in six with the Baby Faced Assassin at the helm – and the writing seems to be on the wall.
At this stage in his career, McTominay needs the regular playing time as that’s the best thing for his development.
Going to a place like Celtic would be huge, as they’re a prestigious club within their own right and McTominay will certainly be well looked after.
The only downside with him heading North of the border is the fact that the quality of opposition is considerably weakened, but the confidence he’ll earn, playing week-in-week-out would far outweigh that.
I hope that the two parties can come to some sort of agreement sooner rather than later as it’d be hugely beneficial for everyone involved.
