Manchester United could be on the verge of sealing a huge piece of transfer business. According to Sky Sports News, Romelu Lukaku will have his medical with the Red Devils out in the United States of America. They also claim that it already could have taken place.
The report also adds that Lukaku has been training with his pal and soon-to-be-teammate Paul Pogba at UCLA. The two are quite clearly good buddies, and no doubt they’ll be looking forward to playing alongside each other.
Now it is a race against time for Manchester United to get the deal done in time for pre-season tour. Jose Mourinho and his squad are due to fly out this coming Sunday, before their first match against the LA Galaxy on July 15th.
Obviously, it’s unlikely that Lukaku will fly back to England and then straight back out to LA, so in my opinion, he’ll probably just stay there and link up with his new teammates as soon as everything is finalised.
United deserve a whole lot of credit for keeping this one so quiet. It looked for all the world that Alvaro Morata was going to be our new striker, and out of nowhere, a move for one of the best in the Premier League seems to be in place.
