Manchester United Football Club are doing their best to tie players down to new deals, however, there are some major concerns.
David de Gea is yet to commit, as is Anthony Martial. Now, according to Sky Sports News, contract talks with the Frenchman are deadlocked, with the Red Devils bracing themselves for January interest in the superstar 22-year-old.
Apparently, clubs including Chelsea and Juventus are keen on signing Martial when the winter window opens, which is concerning as an agreement is far from being reached.
Martial is under contract until 2020, but that deal is winding down and slowly but surely, United are no longer in the driver’s seat.
If the player wants to leave, realistically, the Red Devils would have to cash in next summer as the club wouldn’t want to run the risk of losing him for free in eighteen months time.
At this point, Martial is by far and away United’s best attacker. His goals output is second to none within the current squad, and losing that would be a huge blow to any trophy chances.
Hopefully, the two parties can come to an agreement sooner rather than later and we can put this in the rearview mirror…
