Manchester United’s summer transfer window has been a fairly productive one. Jose Mourinho is slowly but surely going about his business, and filling those gaping holes within the squad. However, we could have signed one of the biggest players in the world last summer, but the move didn’t happen.
That’s what Sky Sports News’ Bryan Swanson tweeted out earlier. He reckons that Neymar Jr came close to becoming a Red Devil last summer, but obviously, the move didn’t happen.
Now, the insanely good attacker looks set to join Paris Saint-Germain in a colossal deal.
Source says Neymar was "close" to joining Manchester United last summer. About to become world's most expensive player. (4/4) #SSN

Oh, what could have been. However, when you look at the fees being mentioned in the media, it’s absolute madness and it makes Paul Pogba’s move to Manchester United look cheap.
At the end of the day though, it isn’t my money, and I would have absolutely loved him to make the move to Old Trafford at whatever cost.
This is a man who is still so young at just 25, and the world is at his feet. He has the potential to be the best footballer on the planet in a couple of years, and PSG have signed an absolute gem of a footballer.
Honestly, I’m surprised that we’re not up there challenging for his signature this summer because we’re one of the richest clubs in the world, and surely a move to the Premier League would have been more attractive than playing in the Ligue 1.
