Manchester United’s torrid summer transfer window is one that’ll always be looked back on with sheer frustration. Jose Mourinho wasn’t given the investment nor the players he wanted to build upon our second place finish from the season prior.
However, it looks as though United are ready to try and right those wrongs. According to Sky Sports News, the manager is already in talks with the board about potential signings for both the January window and summer window.
To further add to that, Mourinho is still keen on bringing in a new centre-half, as he clearly doesn’t feel the current crop are good enough. Based on recent displays, you’d have to say that is an accurate assessment from the self-proclaimed Special One.
For a club with United’s stature, having the fifth-worst defensive record in the Premier League is woeful. Goals are being shipped left, right and centre and it’s just not good enough. The Red Devils are slowly finding some calm, with the best performances coming from the duo of Victor Lindelof and Chris Smalling, but even then, there are far too many shaky moments if we’re trying to challenge for major honours.
