Manchester United saw their initial £52million bid to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid rejected. The Spaniard, 24, had a brilliant season at the Santiago Bernabeu as he found the back of the net on 20 occasions; a great return considering he spent a lot of the campaign on the bench.
Now, we’ve been given another update in the saga and it comes from Sky Sports News’ Bryan Swanson. The journalist has been told that negotiations between United and Madrid will continue, and the Red Devils are confident of pushing through a deal. Sky Sports then said that any potential move would not include David de Gea.

I think it comes as no secret that Manchester United simply have to bring in a striker of some sort over this summer window. Whether Zlatan Ibrahimovic remains at the club or not, we definitely need help in such a vital area of the field.
Alright, the future definitely looks like it’ll be Marcus Rashford’s but title-winning sides need more than one out and out forward. Alvaro Morata is still young and he could bring an awful lot to this football club.
My concern would be the transfer fee. We’d obviously have to up our bid from £52million, but I’d be extremely surprised if we offered much more than that. Heck, this sort of amount makes Paul Pogba look like an absolute bargain.
