Manchester United Football Club have just been given the clearest indication yet that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be their player before the end of the transfer window. Sky Sports News say that the 34-year-old has agreed personal terms with the club.
The English media outlet go on to say that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will sign on a one-year contract, but nothing will happen before the European Championships are over.
That said, both sides are relaxed about the deal, and don’t mind waiting for the striker to finish serving his country before putting pen to paper on a Manchester United contract.
What a statement of intent this would be. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one of the best strikers on the planet at the moment, and despite his age he still has plenty to offer Jose Mourinho and Manchester United.
He could well be that father figure to a young team, similarly to how Eric Cantona helped the youngsters back in the early 1990s.
