Gareth Bale has reaffirmed his desire to stay in Spain this summer. That’s according to Sky Sports News, who claim the Welshman is happy with Real Madrid, and he isn’t planning on returning to the Premier League before the window slams shut.
The news comes after plenty of speculation suggesting the former Tottenham Hotspur man could be on his way to Manchester United. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Sky say that there were whispers about Bale’s long-term future at the club following Madrid’s interest in Kylian Mbappe, but it looks as though the 27-year-old is ready to fight for his place.
Honestly, can you hardly blame him for wanting to stay with the best and biggest club side in the world right now? Los Blancos are perennial winners and they are always challenging for Champions League titles, whereas the Red Devils probably cannot offer him that right now.
As a United fan, I’d love for us to sign Bale because he is one of the few players in world football that could walk into any starting line-up. This is a man who, when fit, is probably the third best player on the planet in behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. It cost Madrid a huge £85million to sign him, and I’d dread to think how much we’d have to pay to bring him back to the English game.
