Sky Sports: Romelu Lukaku being targeted by Inter Milan this summer

Manchester United’s rebuilding job is probably bigger than any of us imagined.

With players like Ander Herrera and Antonio Valencia leaving on free transfers, while several key superstars yet to put pen to paper, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has huge work to do.

The task could be about to get even bigger, too… That’s if Sky Sports News‘ latest story comes to fruition anyway. This morning, they’re claiming that Romelu Lukaku is subject of summer interest from Inter Milan.

Antonio Conte has recently been appointed as their new head coach, with the Italian targeting Lukaku, who has scored 42 goals in 96 United games since his arrival in 2017.

At the time of his move to Old Trafford, don’t forget that Conte tried to sign Lukaku for Chelsea but the Belgian favoured a move to United. It seems as though Conte is ready to make another attempt at acquiring the forward who United paid £75million for.

Since Solskjaer’s appointment, Marcus Rashford has been given the starting striker role more often than not, leaving Lukaku’s future up in the air in the process.

Honestly, if the right offer came in then I’d probably cash in on Lukaku while he still has value. That’s not to say he’s a bad striker, he isn’t. I’m just not convinced that he fully fits the style Solskjaer is trying to play and if these means more minutes for Mason Greenwood then I’m all for it.
